Fact Check: Full Figured Model
"Melissa Aronson, better known as Emme, is a plus-size
model, and is largely recognizes as the pioneering model in the profession. She
was the first plus-size model to attain supermodel status.
Full figured African American model Toccara Jones was a
contestant on the third season of the UPN series “American’s Next Top Model”.
Since ANTM, Jones has signed with Wilhelmina Models. She has been on the covers
of Be, The Next Level Magazine, Black Men magazine, Black Hair Magazine, Braids
magazine, King magazine and appeared in the December 2008 issue of Ebocy
magazine. Jones has modeled for Ashley Stewart, Avon, Torrid, New York and
Company, Target, Rocawear etc.
In July 2008 Toccara Jones was photographed by Steven
Meisel for the all black issue of Vogue Italia and had a 14 page spread in the
magazine. She is he first African American plus-size model to appear in the
pages of a Vogue issue.

Crystal Renn, Barbara Brickner, Mia Tyler, Christine Alt, Whitney Thompson (the
first plus size winner in the history of America’s Next Top Model), Emme,

Carrie Otis, and “Easy Breezy Beautiful Cover Girl” Queen Latifa.

include but not limited to: Ford plus division, Wilhelmina ten 20 division, Irene Marie, Giovanni Model Management,
Goddess Models, 12 Plus UK, Model Team (Hamburg, Germany), BGM Models.
Today in North America, there are more that 25 modeling
divisions or agenciessolely representing plus size models. Internationally,
established modeling agencies representing full figured models can be found in:
England, Germany and Australia......"
