The Big Minus of
Plus-Sized Models: Photoshop Still Makes Them Look Better Than Everyone Else
For
instance,
A Cleverly Placed Hat
The hat covers up her entire lap, revealing only the curve of her hip,
which is noticeably free of stretch marks or cellulite. The addition of the
shirt also covers her arms. Having the camera positioned from above makes her
face appear larger, drawing attention away from her body.
From The Side
Having the model pose from the side, with her back arched, again draws
attention away from her thighs and instead gives her an exaggerated
hip-to-waist ratio. (Photo: H&M)
The Far-Sighted Pose
From this distance, you can't even tell that this is a full-figured
model.
And The Other Side
The cut of this one-piece bathing suit definitely helps shape the
model's body, and it definitely looks great on her, but again, her waist
appears to be itty-bitty while her bust is, shall we say, plentiful. Because so
many size-16 women are shaped the same way . .
Hands on hips, ladies!
This is probably the worst offender. Not only is that wrap around
completely covering her thighs, and is angled on her body in such a way to
great more flattering lines, her crooked arm creates a greater curve in her
torso by drawing the eye to the negative space it creates. Also, by having one
arm up in the air, you cannot tell at all that she is a full figured model.
Instead, she just looks like a Goddess with an amazing décolletage.
